We have cross-sector expertise in higher and further education, climate transition, resilience and adaptation, health, innovation, and emerging technologies
Higher & Further Education,
Not for Profit
We have deep sector expertise, working with senior teams and governing bodies to design, review, and shape organisations. Our expertise includes: strategies and strategic approaches (including L&T, research, innovation and knowledge exchange, and professional services), reshaping, re-sizing, integrating, merging, and re-orientating delivery. Building capabilities and prototyping new approaches. Proposition and business case development. Strategic, cultural and organisational reviews.
Innovation
Bridging the gap between research and innovation within higher-education institutions and between HEI’s and industry. Support from sandpits to spin-outs including creativity and ideation, market assessments, requirements gathering, proposition development, funder, investor and industry engagement. Connecting ideas, stakeholders and pathways to commercialisation and impact. We work with regional accelerators and multi-partner initiatives.
Climate Resilience and Adaptation
Enabling action on climate through collaborative, evidence-led and systems-based approaches. We support people and organisations to build resilient communities and develop responses to climate change that work across places, sectors and policy areas. Our work combines evidence synthesis and mobilisation, participatory and place-based approaches, systems thinking, futures and scenarios, and monitoring, evaluation and learning, and capability building for systems transformation.
We use these approaches to understand context, map systems, identify opportunities for intervention, and explore the benefits, interdependencies and trade-offs that different courses of action create.
Live project:
Collaborating with Verture and the University of Glasgow we are currently leading a review into “Engaging children and young people in the nature and climate crises”. Read the project overview here.
Health, equity and emerging futures
We work at the intersections of health, inequality, equity, climate and emerging technologies, helping people make sense of complex and interconnected challenges. Our work combines research, evidence synthesis, systems thinking and futures to explore implications for health and equity, and turn evidence into insight that can inform decisions, policy and practice.
Live project:
Collaborating with the University of Glasgow we are part of the ESRC project exploring healthier and fairer futures, led by Prof. Petra Meier. This pilot will use futures thinking, scenarios and simulation to build a Glasgow-based network on preventing today’s health inequalities from shaping the lives of future generations.
Novel and emerging technologies
We support organisations, researchers and programmes working across energy transition and adaptation; quantum and nanotechnology; hydrogen; imaging; engineering biology; and other emerging technologies, helping connect research and innovation with application across different TRLs. Our work includes supporting PIs, research teams and innovation accelerators working at the frontier of emerging technologies,
